Research

The focus of my research is to develop efficient and precise interactive methods and tools for segmenting, visualizing, and analysing 3D computed tomography (CT) images of the skeleton, to facilitate planning and evaluation of cranio-maxillofacial (CMF) and orthopedic surgery. Some of the projects I work on are

• Interactive segmentation of bones and bone fragments in CT images
• Orbit (eye-socket) segmentation for cranio-maxillofacial (CMF) surgery planning
• Registration and 3D shape comparison of normal and deformed orbits
• Quantitative analysis of wrist fractures in CT images
• Visualization and haptics for interactive medical image analysis

My research interests include image segmentation and registration, volume rendering, scientific visualization, real-time rendering, GPGPU, and VR.
