Ingrid Carlbom

I am Professor of Computer Graphics at Centre for Image Analysis at Uppsala University, where I work on Whole Hand Haptics with True 3D Displays, a highly multidisciplinary project involving researchers from computer science, engineering, material science, neurophysiology, and psychology. I also collaborate with a pathologist at the Uppsala University Research Hospital on automatic malignancy grading of prostate cancer. My interests include computer graphics, computer vision, and image and signal processing applied to telepresence and virtual environments, acoustical modeling, video compression, scientific visualization, and biomedical imaging.

As Project Leader at UU Innovation I help IT researchers at the university with issues of commercialization, including industry and university collaborations, commercialization strategies for inventions, patents issues, marketing analysis, verification, and how to seek financing and legal advice.

I chair the board of Forskarskolan i Matematik och Beräkningsvetenskap (FMB), or the Graduate School in Mathematics and Computing, at Uppsala University. I am also a co-editor-in-chief of Graphical Models (GMOD).

Publications and patents: You can find an abbreviated resume here; a more comprehensive resume, which includes a description of projects that I have been associated with, is available by request from ingrid (at) cb.uu.se.
