Title Path Openings
Abstract Path openings are useful filters to extract line-like objects from images. They were first proposed in 2000; several variants have been presented since. I will introduce path openings and its variants, as well as efficient algorithms that have been proposed to compute them. I will show they are also useful to derive length distributions of objects in an image, without having to segment the objects first.
