Titel Not quite perfect spherical triangles and what they are good for
Sammanfattning Computer graphics deals largely with linear geometric representations of objects in 3D space and their corresponding projective images in planar images space. There exist a number of graphical effects and visual applications that require on the knowledge about how objects in a scene appear on a hemispherical surface above a certain point in space. This presentation introduces the common tricks employed in computer graphics to render hemi-spherical representations of scene objects and it suggests some alternative solutions to this problem. Results from initial qualitative and quantitative analysis are presented and some suitable areas of applications are discussed for various methods to render hemispherical triangles.
