Title Using Sparse Label Dictionaries for segmentation of nuclei in digital histopathology
Abstract I will give a short introduction to the project I am involved in, which is computer-assisted breast-cancer diagnosis. I will also talk about a newly developed method for solving discriminative problems, called Sparse Label Dictionaries. It is based on sparse coding but distinguishes itself from many other sparse methods in that it uses two coupled dictionaries: one intensity dictionary for encoding the image and one label information dictionary for constructing a probability map containing the probability of each pixel belonging to either foreground or background. I will demonstrate how Sparse Label Dictionaries can be used to segment cell nuclei and other structures in histopathology images.
