What is TC18 ?

The aim of this IAPR-Technical Committee is to promote interactions and collaboration between researchers working on Discrete Geometry and Mathematical Morphology. Conferences and a TC web page provide these opportunities.

The main conference of the 18th technical committee is Discrete Geometry and Mathematical Morphology (DGMM) which is a joint event between the Discrete Geometry for Computer Imagery (DGCI) conference, whose first edition was held in 1991 in Strasbourg, and the International Symposium on Mathematical Morphology (ISMM) which started in Barcelona in 1993. The first edition of DGMM was held in 2021 in Uppsala and new editions are planned to be held every 18 months. DGMM is an international conference by its participants, its scientific committee and its locations. Its proceedings are published by Springer Verlag, in the Lecture Notes in Computer Science series. It is usually followed by a special issue in a top tier international journal of the field. The list of all the editions of these conferences with many interesting information are given in the conferences page.

In combination with each edition of DGMM, DGCI and ISMM, a TC meeting is held to give the possibility for the members to discuss the activity of the TC. An electronic newsletter is sent regularly to the members.

The TC18 web page is maintained in order to easily access information on on-going and past research activities related to discrete geometry and mathematical morphology, as well as information on basic notions for researchers in related fields. You will find a lot of information on this website, so have a nice visit !
