Shape in digital volume images

My research interest is the development and improvement of already existing methods for representing and analyzing shape of 3D and 4D digital objects starting from binary images, where the object has already been separated from the background, or directly from grey-level images.
During the last years, I have focused on methods for electron tomography images of macromolecules through the projects Automated extraction of geometrical features of proteins from cryo electron tomographic data and ProViz - Interactive visualization of in situ 3D protein images. I am affiliated with Department of Cell and Molecular Biology, Karolinska Institutet, Stockholm.

At CBA, I am involved in the following projects (mostly with reference to the CBA annual report 2009):

See also my CV, my list of publications, and the list of the conferences I have attended (including links to pdf-files of some of the presentations).

If you find my research interesting and want a paper copy of any of my published papers, please do not hesitate to send me an e-mail (stina.svensson at cb.slu.se).

Research carried out during my doctoral studies is presented on my PhDthesis page.

The programs are written in C+matlab (mex-files). They are free to download and use as long as proper reference is given (see help text).
Please, inform me if you find any errors in the code.
