Wood Wisdom
Part of a larger micro CT image of a fibrous material
|
Estimated fibre orientation in a wood fibre based composite. The colours indicate the estimated orientation in each voxel neighbourhood.
|
Background
To extract information from microCT images of composite materials is a challenging problem because of very large data sets and artefacts in the images.
Reseach goals
- To gain further insight into the microstructure of composite materials.
- To develop methods for quantitative and qualitative information extraction from micro-CT images.
