CURRENT RESEARCH INTERESTS
My main research interest is in computerized image analysis of two-, three-, and four-dimensional (3D+time) images of cells in tissue and culture. I work mainly with fluorescens microscopy images, but also with wide-field microscopy time-lapse sequences of cultured cells. The 3D and 4D images are produced by optical sectioning using deconvolution- or confocal microscopy. I work with the development of algorithms for automatic registration, segmentation, tracking, feature extraction, screening and cell modeling. The applications range from analysis of cell cycle components in 3D images of tumor tissue to stem-cell tracking and analysis of the sub cellular distribution of protein complexes and mithochondrial DNA. In a wider perspective, the methods can be used for applications such as cancer diagnosis and high-throughput screening of drugs.

OTHER INTERESTS AND HOBBIES
My greatest free time interest is my family; my children, born in December 2001, September 2005 & August 2007, and my husband Anders. I enjoy outdoor sports (skiing, skating, biking, running, hiking) and swimming. I also enjoy drawing, painting, woodworking etc.
