Title Mathematical Morphology on Irregularly Sampled Signals
Abstract Approximating continuous-domain morphological operators using discrete morphology on regularly sampled signals results in a number of problems. In this talk I will discuss some ideas on how morphology on irregularly sampled data may be applied, and how this can lead to better approximations of the corresponding transformed continuous signal. Another benefit of this approach is that input data that is irregularly sampled to begin with does not have to be resampled onto a regular grid, and thus one does not have to patch up large holes in the data, i.e., such holes can be maintained.
