Titel Thoughts on discretization
Sammanfattning Models using real numbers have been successfully used during centuries. Discrete models are becoming more and more important. Carpets and mosaics are early examples of digitalgeometry. I will start with Euclid---there is some discreteness with him ... Rapidly mentioning ideas of Descartes, Newton, Leibniz, Rosenfeld, Reveillès, Khalimsky. Digital lines and digital planes. Discrete convolution equations: From $\mathbb{Z}^n$, the most regular discrete set, to arbitrary discrete sets in $\mathbb{R}^n$. Tropicalization: Infimal convolution, Minkowski addition, marginal functions.
