Titel The Categorical Implication for Design —Autonomy as The Guiding Principle
Sammanfattning I will present my thesis, in which I argue for the importance of paying attention to users' autonomy when designing artifacts, and the value in granting the same also to designers. I will start by defining what I mean by autonomy —as a synthesis of moral philosophy, sociology and cognitive psychology— and then use this definition to identify general artifact features that reduce it. There will be examples of better and worse designs from this point of view. Finally, I will reiterate parts from my previous presentation, Theorizing about Artifacts, in order to clarify how that method can be used when designing for autonomy.
