Title Detecting background and foreground from video in realtime with a moving camera
Abstract Finding movement in a real time video feed from a moving camera is not trivial. This is a problem for Imint costumers since the live feed from their unmanned air vehicles (UAV) is both used to control the UAV and to observe the surrounding, all processed by the ground station (a rugged laptop) with restricted hardware. Existing methods were researched, implementing the simpler ones, evaluating their fitness towards this use case and improving/extending the implementations to better handle it. Results shows that simpler algorithms are to prefer and that post processing might be a valid choice. Difference in handling the transformation matrix and neighborhood awareness had impact on the results.
