Title Mathematical morphology for color images
Abstract Mathematical morphology is a non-linear theory well defined for binary and gray valued images. Nevertheless, its extension to color images is not trivial, and it is still an open problem. This problem appears due to the morphological framework that is based on complete lattices and it is not straightforward to define extrema on vectorial data. In this seminar, I will present a review on some of the proposed methods for mathematical morphology on color images. In addition, I will discuss how to define adaptive structuring elements and consequently adaptive morphological operators for color images.
