Title An automated method for segmentation of epithelial height in testicular tissue
Abstract In toxicology study the morphology of testicular tissue is widely used as a measurement of healthiness of the tissue. The preparation procedure such as angle of cut, choice of fixative and time from death until we put the material in fixative all can effect the morphology of tissue in one way or another. We are looking for the features that stays unchanged in old tissue, and can still be useful for the toxilcology study. One feature is the epithelial height in the tubular structure of tissue. In this talk, I present an automated method for segmenting the epithelium in the fresh tissue and then discuss some of the challenges to measure the morphology of this complicated tissue.
