Title Ubiquitous Visualisation of Spatial Data
Abstract Spatial data, also known as geospatial data or geographic information, is the data or information that identifies the geographic location of features and boundaries on Earth. It is usually stored as coordinates and topology and can be accessed, manipulated or analysed through Geographic Information Systems (GIS). My research is about exploring the possibility of combining the latest mobile technology and spatial data visualisation techniques within a built environment (e.g. a city) and meanwhile evaluating the user factors in it. In this seminar, I will briefly introduce my research in terms of motivations, challenges and planned procedures. Additionally, some initial approaches to segmentation and detection of buildings in a digital image and their results will be presented.
