Title Quantitative image analysis of Cherenkov light from nuclear fuel assemblies
Abstract The DCVD (Cherenkov camera) is used to record images of ultraviolet Cherenkov light from spent nuclear fuel assemblies stored in water. With these images, fuel assemblies can be verified as nuclear fuel or decoys. In a project to evaluate if the DCVD also can be used to determine more details about a fuel assembly, simulated images are developed for the purpose of comparison with real images. This project is a first analysis of these real and simulated images.
